Our Story

How we look at a deck job

We build new decks and fix old ones for homeowners around El Paso, and most of us got into this trade because we'd rather work outside with wood and tools than sit behind a desk. You'll deal with the same person who measured your yard when we come back to walk the finished deck with you.

The thing you're probably worried about is a deck that looks fine today and starts sagging or rotting in three years. That comes down to what's under the boards, so we oversize the footings for our caliche soil, use joist hangers rated for the actual load, and flash the ledger board so water never sits against your house. We'd rather spend an extra hour on the frame than come back out on a warranty call.

Why Choose Us

What you get when you hire us

None of this is complicated. It is mostly just doing what we said we would do.

Licensed and Insured

You're covered if something goes wrong on site, and we can send certificates before the job starts. That matters on a deck build since we're working with ladders, saws and sometimes a second-story ledger attachment.

Written Quotes

The quote breaks down material and labor so you know what composite decking costs versus pressure-treated pine. No add-ons show up once the framing is already open.

Our Own Crew

We don't hand the job to subcontractors halfway through. The same guys who set your footings are the ones screwing down the boards.

Cleanup Included

Deck demolition leaves splintered wood and rusted screws scattered around the yard. We bag it and load it out, we don't leave it stacked by the fence.

On-Time Scheduling

El Paso's summer storms can push a schedule back a day, and if that happens we call instead of leaving you guessing. We build a weather buffer into the timeline before we ever give you a date.

Local Knowledge

We've dug footings through that hard white soil enough times to know how deep it actually needs to go. We also know which stains hold up to this much UV and which ones chalk out after two summers.

Common Questions

Things people ask us

Questions about how we work and who's doing the job.

How long have you been building decks?
Deck construction experience typically covers everything from simple pressure-treated platforms to multi-level composite builds with custom railings and stairs. Ask to see photos of finished work and references from past deck projects before hiring.
Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
A deck contractor that keeps the same crew on site from footings through final board tends to produce more consistent framing and finish work than one that swaps subcontractors between stages. It also means one point of contact for questions during the build.
Can I see examples of decks you've built?
Photos of completed deck installations, railing work and staining jobs are the clearest way to judge a deck contractor's finish quality before signing a contract. Ask specifically for photos of framing and footings, not just the finished boards, since that's where problems usually start.
Why hire a local deck builder instead of a large national company?
A deck builder based in El Paso already knows how deep footings need to go through caliche soil and which stains actually hold up to the amount of UV this area gets each summer. That local knowledge affects how long the deck lasts, not just how it looks on day one.
Where is your business based?
This deck building service is based in El Paso, TX and works throughout the surrounding area within roughly a 50-mile radius.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Deck installation scheduling in El Paso gets tightest in spring and early summer, so booking four to six weeks ahead is reasonable during that stretch. Repair work, like a rotted board or loose railing, can often be scheduled faster.
Do you clean up the job site when the work is done?
Old decking, cut-offs, packaging from composite boards and any removed hardware should be hauled off the property before a deck job is called finished. Sweeping sawdust and screws out of the grass matters too, especially with pets or kids using the yard.
What happens if something gets damaged on my property during the work?
A licensed and insured deck contractor carries coverage for accidental damage to fencing, siding or landscaping that happens during construction. Certificates of insurance can be requested before the contract is signed.
Will you finish a deck another contractor started or left incomplete?
Taking over a partly built deck means inspecting the existing footings, framing and any decking already installed before adding to it, since building on top of undersized joists just repeats the original problem. Some jobs need partial demolition before work can safely continue.
How can I tell the work is being done correctly while it's in progress?
Footing depth, joist spacing and beam sizing should all be checked against the actual load the deck needs to carry, not eyeballed, and a contractor should be able to explain those numbers on request. Flashing at the ledger board and proper fastener spacing on the decking are two details worth asking about directly.
